Twitter is transforming how users around the world are interacting with their elected officials and connecting to real-time news and information. This is your opportunity to help drive this change, working with government officials, ministries and candidates, as well as journalists and news organizations, to identify and champion best practices for using Twitter in civic discourse.  

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line technical support to news, government, political users of Twitter, solving problems and escalating to internal support and policy teams as needed.

• Manage, track and expand Twitter's numerous relationships with journalists/editors and government officials or politicians; increase the active usage of Twitter significantly among them.

• Prepare training and presentation materials, including presentations, case studies, training handouts, and/or best practice guides.

• Develop best practices and new story formats, and drive adoption by news, government, political users and share those with Global team.

• Lead strategies that scale up Twitter’s reach and impact with news, government, political users of Twitter.

• Success measured by overall response and resolution time and user satisfaction.

• Conduct research into government, political and news use of Twitter, working with other Twitter team members to identify key metrics and narrative-boosting examples of successful use.

• Execute routine management tasks for the Government and News team, including coordinating internal and external meetings, reviewing and approving requests for account verification, managing outreach for new feature deployments, maintaining contact lists for key users and assisting in management of interns.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 10 years experience in journalism and government or in politics with deep familiarity across all three disciplines

• Exceptional understanding of Twitter and social media’s impact on journalism and government or politics.

• Demonstrated communication and relationship skills

• Experience conducting data-driven analyses to drive your decision-making.

• English required, Hindi and other Indic languages a plus. Will closely work as a member of global team.
