Specifically within the Organisational Surveys & Insights Practicewe design and administer employee surveys, and apply benchmark data and advanced analytics, to develop practical insights about improving employee engagement, shaping a high-performance culture and achieving optimal return on talent investments.

The Role 

You will be expected to lead the OSI business in Japan, partnering closely with the T&R leader. You will also be expected to work with colleagues internationally and across various business lines as required, maintain client relationships, plan, design, interpret and report data to existing and new clients. You will work directly with managers and senior executive leadership of large firms to evaluate and develop optimal solutions.   Your focus will be on developing both Multinational as well as Domestic Companies business.

Performance Objectives: 

Clients

  • Client delivery for portfolio of clients: Responsible for all aspects of local delivery of TW’s products and services within the OSI practice and as part of a broader Talent & Reward offering
  • Client relationships: Responsible for building and maintaining client relationships  for OSI work in the market
  • Client delivery: Participate in and /or lead as appropriate client project work at mid and senior levels with clients, such as executive interviews, workshops, and presentations
  • Individual contribution:  Personal contribution to sales and delivery of client work

Financial

  • Country sales execution: Work with Country T&R leader to design and implement Practice sales strategies to deliver target revenue consistent with goals (these could be practice stand-alone initiatives as well as integrated T&R sales and marketing campaigns)
  • Operations management, P&L responsibilities: Work with country leaders and provide input into country operating plans consistent with Country and Region LOB and Country T&R plans; deliver planned performance

Excellence


  • Project Management: Oversee project management in the team, including leading client project teams where needed to ensure projects are delivered according to time, scope and budget. Monthly financial process, such as project WIP reviews, billing and receivables.
  • Work quality and risk management: Manage risk to within acceptable levels by ensuring appropriate governance and work quality process are adopted on all work carried out
  • Subject Matter Expertise: establish a strong  foundation in OSI’s services and products, business process, work and tools:

    • Expertise in OSI methodologies, such as survey design and consulting models (e.g., culture, leadership, safety, risk, EVP, results workshops, analytics, report tools, links to HR interventions)

    • Understand and articulate competitive advantages and differentiators of the practice

    • Lead client conversations at senior and mid level with deep technical knowledge (e.g., survey design, engagement strategy, global trends, industry differences, national country differences)

    • Oversee the work of more junior associates and project teams delivering the work such as set-up of tools, report specifications, liaising with GRC colleagues, client day-to-day contact.  Bridge the needs of clients and how the work gets done by project teams (e.g., project timelines, scope, and deliverables), coaching, oversee and develop the work of the teams.
  • Partner with senior colleagues in other practices on Business Development and T&R integrated client solutions.

People

  • People management and development: Develop and execute practice staffing plans and people processes (e.g. recruiting, training and development, goal setting and performance management and compensation/bonus /promotion recommendations) based on strategic direction and priorities established for the Practice
  • Member of Country Leadership Team: Work with Country T&R and/or LOB leaders to meet Country objectives in terms of financials, sales/marketing, people and excellence goals

Key working relationship

  • Other Country LOB and practice Leaders within the T&R and the LOB, and from other LOBs within the Country
  • Regional practice, LOB and T&R Leaders
  • Local Client Relationship Managers of key clients
  • Direct Reports: OSI associates in the country practice team

The Requirements 

  •   Graduate degree: MBA or PhD in the behavioural or social sciences, I/O psychology or OD is strongly desired
  •   A strong HR consulting background with proven track record of business development in the Human Resource community in Japan
  •   Fluent in English and Japanese
  •   Working knowledge of Excel, MS Project, MS Word
  •   Strong stand-up presentation skills required
  •   Demonstrated success or strong evidence to support new business generation
  •   Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills
  •   An executive presence with polished and well developed oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to deliver presentations to the Executive Board and Senior Management

  •   Demonstrated hands on experience designing, interpreting and reporting organizational surveys.
  •   Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity
  •   Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
  •   Strong analytical and creative skills
  •   Experience  in providing organisational development interventions will be a plus
  •  Enjoy training/mentoring junior staff

  •  The ability to see the "big picture," leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges
  • Interest and ability to travel globally and foreign language skills desirable
