Applications are invited for the following positions in the Faculty of Education, tenable from September 1, 2014, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal for posts (1) to (4); on a one-year temporary basis with the possibility of renewal for post (5).

For professoriate positions, applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree, a professional teaching qualification in the relevant discipline and substantial experience in teaching at the tertiary level. Knowledge of the local context would be an advantage. Appointees will be required to teach on courses offered by the Faculty at various levels from undergraduate to doctorate, supervise research postgraduate students, contribute actively to research, undertake school practicum supervision and administrative responsibilities. Professoriate staff with demonstrated performance may apply for tenure towards the end of the second three-year contract.

For Lecturer positions, applicants should have at least a higher degree in the relevant area, a professional teaching qualification, not less than 5 years’ teaching experience, and good knowledge of the local education scene. Appointees will be required to take up substantial teaching responsibilities, undertake school practicum supervision and assume administrative responsibilities.

Those applying for the professoriate rank should also have strong research experience in the relevant fields. Applicants should have strong teaching and research experience in two or more of the following areas: education and society, policy studies, and school leadership and administration.
