Introduction
Staples is seeking Sr. Financial Analyst Interns in each of our Finance divisions: Corporate Finance, Delivery Finance, and Retail Finance.  Please note that when applying to this position, you may be considered for any one of these roles.
 
Corporate:  Responsible for Corporate Financial Planning & Management, including forecasting, planning, analysis, annual budgeting, company-wide Long Range Planning, G&A and P&L, mergers and acquisitions.
 
North America Commercial:  Responsible for Financial Planning & Management of our Delivery Channel, including sales and margin forecasting, planning, customer level profitability analysis, B2B analysis, supply chain analysis, and annual budgeting.
 
Stores and Online:  Responsible for Retail Financial Planning & Management, including weekly and monthly forecasting, planning, store P&L, annual budgeting, sales forecasting, sales margin & analysis and store based testing.
 
Responsibilities (for all positions):
• Take part in forecasting, planning, and analysis. 
• Provide timely and accurate financial analyses to Management and Executives throughout Staples to support strategic and operational decision-making. 
• Opportunity to own projects from beginning to end

o Capital Investment Analysis
o Budgeting and Forecasting Analysis

• Cross-channel interaction with Managers and Executives throughout the organization while working on projects involving company-wide cross-functional issues.

o Financial Business Modeling
o Process/Profit Improvement studies
o New store real estate and pro-forma analysis
 
Qualifications
 
Basic
• 1st year MBA candidate.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and financial skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills required, with particular emphasis on Excel
• Organizational skills
• Time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong analysis and communication skills
• Ability and confidence to present information to Staples executives, Board members and Investor Relations
