Senior Manager, Business Analytics & Data Sciences

Los Angeles, CA

  • Leadership role within Business Strategy and Analytics team to develop insightful and actionable analysis of Sony’ Network Services
  • Conceptualize and execute advanced analytics and data sciences projects related to customer segmentation and buying behavior analysis, customer retention analysis, ecommerce store management and performance, games-video-music cross engagement trends, etc.
  • Independently extract and integrate data from multiple big data systems to support analytical efforts, including writing complex SQL queries to extract data directly from multiple databases
  • Develop and present executive-level summaries of data analysis
  • Provide thought-leadership in on-going measurement and analysis of SNEI’s digital video and music business. Identify new ideas and opportunities for analytics projects.
  • Provide recommendations on improvement of product and marketing efficiencies and effectiveness
Qualifications
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in a business intelligence leadership role, including managing and running analytics projects either independently or leading small high-performance teams. Experience with a management consulting firm is ideal.
  • MBA or Masters degree in Advanced Mathematics or Statistics preferred. BA/BS Degree (Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science) is a minimum requirement.
  • 5+ years of advanced SQL programming skills required
  • 5+ years of demonstrable experience with standard BI Tools (MicroStrategy, Business Objects, , Cognos, etc.) and web tools including Omniture, DFA, Webtrends, Visual Science, Coremetrics, WebSideStory, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in the use of at least one established commercial statistical analytics tool including SAS, SPSS, KXEN, Matlab or Revolution R
  • Demonstrable expertise in various analytic modeling techniques including multivariate/linear regression, machine learning algorithms, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Qlikview, Tableau, Spotfire)
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (Mapreduce, Hadoop, Hbase, Hive, Pig, etc.)
  • Skilled in at least one of the following: java, php, python
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Access, Project, and PowerPoint) as well as Visio to prepare and present analysis results
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
