The team is looking for an experienced Business Development Executive to join our R & I team who can lead and support efforts to identify and execute on strategic co-innovation opportunities. She/He will have excellent abilities to develop ROI-based business models to evaluate co-innovation opportunities with customers and partners. Gather business intelligence and perform competitive analysis to uncover new opportunities for the Research & Innovation unit. Help to market effectively and measure success of the operational and strategic plan of the R & I team. EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As a Business Development Executive in the R & I team you will be expected to lead and help define, develop and execute on co-innovation strategies with customers and partners, specifically focused on delivering innovative product development to commercialization to be part of SAP's future business platform. Manage efforts to develop and implement new business models, important partnerships and new co-innovation opportunities across the region. Accountable to ensure strategies and related business plans are developed, documented, communicated and implemented: Tasks: • Prepare proposals, deliver presentations, and manage project engagements. Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of co-innovation partnerships and work with management to execute on the relationships. • Analyze and evaluate complex business interactions to ensure that all relevant aspects are identified. • Stay abreast of legal requirements to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Coordinate due diligence and all necessary internal approvals (legal, accounting, tax, credit, etc.). • Support efforts to building business development capabilities and organization. • Work collaboratively with direct and indirect teams to identify, evaluate and execute on specific, important investment opportunities for SAP. Leverage and Integrate with the global SAP teams and processes as appropriate to lead and support the co-innovation agenda. • Build an effective network/community both internally across AEs/Sales, Industry Business, Custom Development and Global Product teams and externally with significant customers, partners, analysts and consultants. • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop actionable strategies, business cases, negotiation strategies and implementation plans. • Collaborate with SAP R & I colleagues, SAP product development groups, and customers to identify and validate co-innovation projects.

WORK EXPERIENCE

In order to succeed in the position, the candidate needs to be able to demonstrate expertise in areas such as: • 2-5 years of business development experience in enterprise software solution sales preferred. • 1-2 years of SAP work experience. Good understanding of SAP, its products and solutions, partners, markets and competition. • Experience in strategic planning and / or evaluating new business development opportunities. Co-innovation with customers / partners highly desirable. • Record of building strong network of customer / partner relationships. • Collaboration with R&D teams, Research Institutes, Universities is highly desirable. • This is a non-revenue generating business development role focusing on research-novelty innovation product development and commercialization.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

As a (Senior) Business Development, the candidate needs to possess a balanced mixture of experience and qualifications both in technology and business best-practices as well as market-oriented development: • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Computer Science required from an accredited university. MBA or advanced degree in related discipline preferred. • Fluency in English, any other language an asset. Fluency in the language of local markets desirable. • Knowledge of Design Thinking methodology highly desirable.
