Job summary

The Red Hat Operations team is seeking an experienced Sales Data Analyst to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will join the sales reporting and analysis organization and promote operational improvement across the organization by focusing on clarifying and refining our master data management system. You'll oversee all refinement and maintenance to ensure that our practices are accurate and that they support our business needs. We'll need you to have excellent analytical skills and be committed to contributing to Red Hat's operational success, as you'll be resolving all data quality deficiencies, improving data entry practices, and creating process design strategies.

Primary job responsibilities
  • Collaborate with managers and executives to compile detailed booking forecasts, sales metrics, and economic models
  • Collaborate with the Operations, Finance, and IT departments to support projects that develop repeatable and scalable processes and system logic for sales reporting
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret sales bookings data across all channels
  • Create business plans and dashboards to support process mapping and testing for a new implementation of Oracle
  • Participate in planning and analysis projects
  • Create spreadsheet models to support data-driven decision making
  • Translate complex system and process issues into simple and understandable terms, and use this knowledge to analyze strategic decisions
Required skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or statistics; minor in economics or statistics is an advantage
  • Master's degree or other graduate-level management or economics degree
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets and experience managing large data sets
  • Experience conducting time series analysis and building financial models using sensitivity analysis
  • Excellent persuasive communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Prior experience working with sales, business consulting, or marketing organizations; an internship within one of these organizations will also be considered
  • Knowledgeable in programming, scripting, or writing database SQL code
  • Proficient in using at least one data mining tool like Business Objects, SAS, or SPSS
  • Previous experience utilizing economic and industry data to build financial models
  • Customer service oriented, with an attention to and emphasis on quality
  • Willingness to consistently work extended hours during periods of high demand; may include working weekends
