Online Business Operations (OBO) relentlessly pursues breakthrough online experiences for Microsoft’s commercial customers, partners, developers, advertisers, and publishers. With a regional hub in Singapore at Microsoft’s Asia-Pacific Operations Center (APOC), OBO works closely with cross-region counterparts in the Americas and in EMEA to deliver global capabilities that are transacted locally for Microsoft’s seventeen markets in Asia-Pacific & Japan (APJ). OBO makes online business easy, running and transforming the online commerce, stores, and advertising businesses of Microsoft.

OBO is at the forefront of Microsoft’s Devices & Services corporate strategy, driving world-class incubation and online operations with agile and efficient solutions that deliver integrated customer, partner, and field experiences for Microsoft’s online and emerging businesses. As a global team, we provide an end-to-end business process framework, a trial-to-cash (T2C) operational engine that enables revenue and creates positive experiences for all online audiences of Microsoft.

For Microsoft’s online stores business, Stores Business Operations (SBO) within OBO aspires to deliver an exceptional Customer and Developer experience that transforms “end-users” and business partners into “raving fans”. The online stores business includes: (a) electronic software / digital distribution across consumer online stores and programs; (b) online marketplaces for third-party-developed applications and solutions; (c) Home Use Program (HUP) program management; (d) other ad hoc online / e-commerce programs.

Job’s Purpose:

A cross-functional, process-and-technology capabilities-focused, and “breadth” role, capabilities program managers are accountable for managing the end-to-end experience of one or more online business capabilities, by optimizing people, process, technology, and information to enable a high-performing solution that meets or exceeds customer, partner, developer, or other stakeholder needs. The work involves the delivery, the alignment, and the integrity of trial-to-cash (T2C) operating models and technology platforms for Microsoft’s emerging businesses – especially online: business and client groups; new businesses and acquisitions; new or evolving operations strategies, models, and capabilities; transactional on-boarding; fold-downs/ close-downs / divestments; multiple releases / iterations; technology partnerships, both internal and external; platform change management and development lifecycles; ad-hoc and planned automation or semi-automation.
Every experience we deliver online at Microsoft is made up of capabilities that can have a huge direct impact on our ability to transform into a Devices and Services Company. As a Capability Manager you will work across Operations as an Integrator and Silo-Breaker by designing great capabilities in support of operational scenarios and end-to-end customer experiences. You are not bound to historic products, but rather take a customer-centric view in determining what a truly connected experience needs.
