Hitachi Consulting is looking for team players who are enthusiastic, thrive on responsibility and inspire trust.  We want colleagues who can see the big picture while executing details and who, above all, want to bring value to our clients.  Our new Senior Consultants join our Consulting Core Practice and work as team members to provide our clients with consulting services that support our solution offerings.  The work is usually performed at the client site but may also be performed at an office location while supervised on defined assignments.

Responsibilities:

Works on projects of all sizes to provide functional and/or technical expertise to support and meet project objectives.  Utilizes knowledge and skills to support and deliver on solutions for clients and on internal initiatives. 

Activities may include:

•  Information Collection and Analysis

•  Interprets and identifies business and solution requirements based on results of data collection techniques such as interviews, process maps, use cases and statistical data.

• Develops action plan and framework for data collection and performs data analysis.

  • Performing work and managing and prioritizing tasks based upon knowledge of the client, solution, or industry.
  • Leading a work stream or acting as a team lead and managing components of the work plan/project.
  • Facilitating client meetings and utilizing effective communication skills.
  • Utilizing analytical, process, and/or technical skills to meet project objectives and deliverables that are self-directed and within project scope and proactively seeks resolutions to issues.
  • Building client relationships and often working closely with client personnel.
  • Using independent judgment in anticipating client needs and initiating action where appropriate.
  • Supervising and reviewing the work of less experienced consultants and coaching others in prioritizing tasks.
  • Contributing to internal initiatives and activities.

Education and Work Experience:

  • An MBA  or an advanced degree is preferred in: Operations, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Engineering or some related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of prior experience in a functional or technical area that supports a solution or industry offering: Microsoft technology, Applications Development, Business Intelligence, Oracle, SAP, Organizational Development, Change Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Sales.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other development tools, databases, or applications as appropriate.
  • Effective relationship-building skills; interpersonal skills and poise; track record of consistent leadership.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation.)
  • Analysis, research, systemic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform in a self-directed manner, and  to multi-task.
  • Aptitude to learn quickly and to rapidly apply performance feedback.
  • Ability to work well both independently and to work collaboratively in teams.
  • A high standard for personal conduct, work ownership, and accountability.

Travel:

  • Regular and expeditious travel (up to 100%) throughout the U.S. and occasionally overseas may be required
  • Ability to be stationed at and work from an out-of-town client site for an extended period of time.
