AVP, Global Head of Project Management

LOCATION: Bridgewater NJ or Cambridge MA

Job Summary:
The Global Head of Project Management is responsible for:
-proactively ensuring that project management is applied consistently and effectively across the Development projects
-coordinating the Project Management office as a "center of practice"
-the implementationof the project strategy via a comprehensive strategic and tactical plan

The responsibilities of the Global Head of Project Management:
-defines the company's project management processes and ensures continuous improvement based on best practices
-discusses the operational project requirements with the Global Project Head and then assigns the appropriate Project Manager to the projects (in conjunction with the Global Project Head)
-provides project management coaching
-monitors project status and P/R/C aspects (plan, resource, cost)
-facilitates knowledge sharing among Project Managers
-defines training programs for Project Management Managers
-supports and facilitates closeouts and lessons learned meetings
-maintain methods, tools and techniques to manage projects on time and within budget
-ensure project risk management and integrates action plans
-communication channel across the R&D matrix
Education:
Advanced degree with scientific background

Experience Needed:
-At least 10 years of professional experience on managing complex projects
-expertise in risk management
-experience and understanding of current pharmaceutical environment

-leadership
-expertise on large & complex projects
-influencing skills to build mutual beneficial solutions
-high level of understanding of drug development strategies and processes
-ability to understand R&D projects from a scientific, commerical, project management and financial perspective
