DIRECTOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT AT HSBC - US

Role Purpose Directs team or teams of Managers and Project Managers responsible for implementing projects or managing processes. Contributes to the overall development of the business plan and strategies to projects and resources. Performs project management administration duties to include complying with policies, standards and procedures. This position must manage full-time employees and is not an individual contributor position. Impact on the Business Responsible for the development of overall Project/Process Management Framework and Strategy for business, multiple segments or product lines. Creates management process for projects and processes, and capabilities for assigned platforms, segments or product lines. Identify and lead reengineering efforts to improve processes, business output and timelines. Drive continual process and cost improvement initiatives across relevant business areas. Understand and translate business strategies into business requirements and implementation instruction for execution teams. Participate in planning the implementation of various programs as requested in conjunction with strategy and execution teams Customers / Stackholders Ensure projects meet business requirements and are running as designed. Resolve problems and keeps moving towards completion. Thoroughly understands cross-functional team roles in projects and processes. Solve customer points of frustration and provides solutions. Initiate changes and identifies opportunities to improve project and process performance. Facilitate cross-functional and cross-business unit collaboration. Consult business owners on the project process, on new process development and on implementations options. Leadership & Teamwork Operational Effectiveness & Control Major Challenges Role Context Management of Risk Observation of Internal Controls

 

Ideally looking for someone with Regulatory Change Management experience

 

Qualifications
 Minimum of ten years proven and progressive project management experience. Advanced degree may substitute for some required experience. Bachelor's degree in business related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred. Project Management Institute (PMI) certification highly desirable. Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, project management and written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent mainframe software packages.
