Job Purpose/Background:
The successful candidate will join BlackRock Solutions (BRS) as a member of the Relationship Management team supporting BlackRock Solutions' clients. The candidate will work with members of the team to manage day-to-day client needs, build and maintain relationships with senior client managers, and identify opportunities to expand the scope of BlackRock services delivered to clients. Travel is required.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key client management team members including senior managers.
  • Understand their business objectives and needs, and help them leverage BRS expertise especially on the implementation of trading system and Order Mgmt System.
  • Provide on-site support (project and maintenance) for BlackRock Solutions' trading and risk management system (Aladdin)
  • Provide client support for key BRS analytics tools (Green Package, Portfolio Risk Tools, and AnSer) and Serve as a liaison between clients and our internal analytics areas. (Optional)
  • Advising clients on best practice for various analytical efforts. Using our experience with other clients, understand the problem and recommend alternatives, if appropriate. (Optional)
  • Complete assigned project deliverables
  • Develop a strong working relationship with clients and project teams and be able to convey client requirements to BRS product teams as necessary
  • Frequent interaction with all groups within the BRS organization including Product teams, Analytics teams & the Solutions Center and lead them to drive initiatives to deliver value-add solutions and/or to play defence to solve relationship issues.
  • Manage projects in support of client initiatives, including business process redesign
  • Actively manage client communications, including Release Notes, Newsletters, and other notices

Requirements:
Candidates for this role should meet the following requirements:
 
  • Education: four-year degree in a business or technical discipline; Master’s Degree, CMA (Japan) or CFA a plus.
  • Technical: a minimum of seven years of broad and deep technical and/or financial services experience.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication (written and presentation in Japanese) matured skills are essential
  • Strong computer skills and an aptitude for learning new systems
  • Enjoys a fast-paced, high-intensity environment; able to manage multiple priorities
  • The position is located in Tokyo but requires travel to clients
  • Working understanding of fixed-income, equity and derivative products a plus
  • Interest in investment portfolio analytics, derivatives, and hedging/risk management a plus.
  • Managerial: Desire and aptitude to lead a team in the near future is important
