General Description

Responsible for the day-to-day resolution of complex problems and the execution of complex transactions for a single site/business unit or smaller business unit(s), including research. Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex products, systems and services in an operations environment. May manage projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives of an operations nature. Should function as the technical expert in their assigned area. Major accountabilities are based on individual expertise and capabilities. Should have in-depth understanding of the business unit's operations processes and implications on other groups within the operations function and other divisions within the company. Knowledge acquired through increasingly responsible operations analysis work. Clearly recognized as a content expert by peers. Bachelor degree or equivalent preferred. Individual typically has 3-5 years of experience.

 

Specific Description

 

Prepares and or reviews balance sheet and bank account reconciliations and other financial reports. Has knowledge of commonly-used accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Must be able to adapt to change and produce high quality, low error work. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and/or reviewing reconciliations for various lines of business
  • Researching and assisting in the resolution of reconciliation exceptions
  • Assisting with the month-end closing process and balance sheet account attestation
  • Participate in tactical projects focused on process improvements
  • Providing clients with a high level of service by responding to and resolving inquiries timely and accurately
    Interacting with various business units
  • Utilizing metrics to conduct root cause analysis and identify opportunities for improving processes
  • Writing test scripts and conducting testing in the QC environment
  • A successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, able to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Candidate must be flexible, be able to work under tight deadlines, constructively handle stress, and be focused on process improvement

 
 
Qualifications
 

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting or equivalent experience
  • Experience with complex financial systems (including SAP eLedger, Oracle, ML Oracle, Insight, EZRec )
  • Ability to balance cash accounts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access
  • Must be results oriented with good problem solving and analytical abilities along with ability to multi-task with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with writing test scripts and conducting testing in the QC environment
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, able to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Must be flexible, adapt to change, be able to work under tight deadlines, constructively handle stress, and be focused on process improvement
