Baker Hughes has an immediate opening for a Reservoir Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The key role for this position will be to support and develop the Baker Hughes Wireline and LWD Formation Pressure Testing & Sampling business across South East Asia, by working both independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams for an extensive multicultural customer base.
Reservoir Engineer (Job Number: 1406891)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Perform pre-job modelling, real-time monitoring and post job analysis of formation pressure testing and sampling data (Wireline and LWD).
  • Perform pressure transient analysis and near wellbore simulation using assigned software.
  • Presenting data, interpretation, and written reports to clients.
  • Provide reservoir engineering. Input to multi-disciplinary projects and acquisition programs.
  • Publishes and/or presents technical papers/posters at conferences or in professional journals.
  • Handles special reservoir engineering projects, as assigned.
  • Participates in training programs for reservoir engineers as a content developer and/or instructor.
  • Mentors junior reservoir engineers.
  • Perform production logging interpretation (PLT) using assigned software.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline with minimum 3 years relevant work experience or Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline with minimum 2 years relevant work experience or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline with minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of reservoir engineering principles and technical aspects of Wireline and LWD formation pressure testing, fluid sampling, and production logging.
  • Have a solid petroleum engineering background.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS 
  • Willing to travel across South East Asia.
  • Willing to perform duties at odd job hours as is typical for the upstream oil & gas industry.
  • Willing to re-locate on short and long-term assignments.
  • Good medical health condition.
