We are currently seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst, MIS Capital and Project Budgeting for the Corporate Projects department. This position will be responsible for IT capital and expense project reporting for budgets and forecasts. It will assist with deep variance analysis for key capital and expense projects and the impact to the IT spend portfolio. Activities include business case modeling, trend analysis, spend analysis, and project financial reporting. This position will also assist management in the coordination of the annual capital budget process, monthly out-of-cycle project approval process and project budgeting. 

The ideal candidate will be tasked with the following responsibilities:

  • IT Project Finance and Management Reporting:                    
    • Identifies, researches, and documents key variances for MIS projects for management reporting.
    • Reconciles IT project reporting for actual spend to SAP financials.
    • Identifies and assists in the correction of inconsistencies in process or accounting treatment that may lead to material misstatement of financial or management reporting of IT related projects.
    • Ensures adherence to WBEI accounting policies, GAAP and SOX procedures related to accounting internally developed software and fixed asset accounting.       
                                    
  • IT Project Budgeting and Forecasting:                        
    • Serve as a key liaison to MIS as needed to provide guidance and answer questions related to categorization of project activities.
    • Assists with providing assessments of business case valuations.
    • Assists is coordination of IT capital budget submission.
    • Assist IT clients in preparation for capital project reviews with CIO and Assistant Controller.
    • Reviews project submissions upon transfer from IT project planning tool to SAP CBS system for completeness – assist with updates in CBS as necessary.
    • Assists department and Enterprise Financial Services to ensure integrated views, reporting, and actuals for total IT spend (capital, operating, projects, resources, rates).
    • Prepare monthly financial presentation decks, financial dashboards, metric analysis and rate volume analysis for Sr. Management within Warner Bros. MIS and Business Units.
    • Support development and calculation of financial analytics, charts and graphs as well as prepare associated MS PowerPoint materials, including key findings, that will be used in management reviews.
    • Respond to ad hoc requests for data and analysis. 

  • IT Project Financial Analysis:                           
    • Provide financial support to IT related projects, including business case development and analytics for benefits realization; assist with ongoing project activities requiring financial support.
    • Assists Director to ensure MIS Project Managers and CRMs assemble information and assumptions necessary for the financial analysis of proposals, new initiatives, resource options, and project service offerings.
    • Performs various analysis and other related tasks and special projects as necessary.
    • Assists in the preparation and development of analytical models for decision support, including implementation planning and labor matrices for project initiatives.

Desirable candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration required.
  • CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
  • 5 or more years experience working in a financial planning and analysis or accounting organization.
  • Project Accounting/Finance experience preferred.
  • Public Accounting (Big 4) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes within a large public company.
  • Industry experience in entertainment, facilities management, real estate, retail services, and/or manufacturing (preferred).
  • MS Excel (proficient in using advanced formulas, macros, and pivot tables).
  • MS Word.
  • MS PowerPoint.
  • MS Access (strongly preferred).
  • SAP (preferred).
  • SAP Business Warehouse..
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including hours beyond the normal schedule when necessary.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
