Group Trucks Operations encompasses all production of the Group’s engines and transmissions as well as all production of Volvo, Renault, Mack and UD trucks. Group Trucks Operations also includes spare parts supplies to the Group’s customers as well as logistics.

APAC Cab & Vehicle Assembly includes 4 truck plants in its scope. The organization includes some 2000 employees.
 
As the Director of Value Chain Optimization, you will have regional responsibility to prepare the logistic set up for new products or new suppliers, as well as have a regional responsibility on internal logistic processes development/deployment. You will report to the VP Logistic APAC Cab & Vehicle Assembly, Group Trucks Operations.
 
Mission


  • Assure logistics preparation along GDP process for both suppliers and product changes.
  • Support APAC plants to organize and improve logistic flows.
  • Organize physical and information flows in order to meet the GTO APAC objectives.
Main activities and responsibilities 


  • Train and prepare supply chain for new products or suppliers changes
  • Provide logistics requirements in the early phases of projects (Flows, Packaging,…)
  • Manage APAC representation in Sourcing Committees
  • Support projects built in APAC C&VA facilities
  • Drive Material structure activities
  • Drive logistics processes and associated systems.
  • Drive internal logistics processes and associated systems.
  • Lead logistic projects
  • Manage APAC logistics standards and rules
  • Support plants to build Master plan
  • Lead regional Logistics Engineering networks and represents GTO APAC in GTO global meetings
  • Deliver the agreed Logistics objectives for APAC Cabs & Vehicles Assembly.
  • Contribute to APAC Cab & Vehicle Assembly operations continuous improvement, in cooperation with the relevant units within GTO and GTT.
  • Drive and challenge the APAC Logistic preparation team, and develop motivation, knowledge and team work in entire organization.
  • Initiate and manage restructuring and improvement projects.
  • Ensure that each part of the APAC Logistic preparation organization has, and is motivated to achieve, clearly formulated and agreed plans which are aligned with APAC Cab & Vehicle Assembly total business plan and strategy.
  • Champion the culture aimed at giving a strong image of the unit and being in the line with AB Volvo values and principles (The Volvo Way, Code of Conduct, etc).
  • Continually inspire, develop and motivate the employees within APAC C&VA VCO team, through participating in web-casts, town-hall meetings, leadership programs etc.
  • Act in close co-operation with other AB Volvo units globally to efficiently develop and deliver services and products with the right Quality, Delivery time and Cost within agreed budget.
  • Participate in meetings and also in Councils, Committees and Networks upon request of the VP logistics APAC Cabs & Vehicles Assembly.
Critical competencies for the position 
With a real talent for cultural integration, and business analyses the Director of VCO   hold a University/Master’s Degree or equivalent, and is able to demonstrate successful international and multi-cultural business experience.
You need to have extensive experience of senior line management within a production environment.
 
In a group that values quality, safety, environment, diversity and respect for the individual, the Head of VCO is above all an effective business leader. The position holder understands the complete chain of the business and is familiar with modern managing principles and techniques within a global matrix organization. This includes good understanding of the commercial vehicle industry and business analyses, as well as a broad knowledge of global manufacturing.
 
Demonstrating a high and solid level in each of the Volvo Group Leadership competencies for the leading business level, the Head of Logistic preparation will be an inspiring and inclusive leader as well as an active team worker.
 
As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required.
