Product Managers (PMs) serve as the bridge between market requirements and engineering, owning the process of defining and executing product engineering strategies and roadmaps, and tracking the product lifecycle from initial creation to end-of-life. TIBCO PMs create and/or track to a business plan for their products and work in conjunction with various stakeholders from Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Finance, to gather and refine market and customer requirements. PMs help resolve customer issues, providing an escalation path for support issues that require information about or changes to product direction. Activities include engineering strategic and architectural meetings and reviews, beta program management, release tracking, third-party software evaluation and contract negotiation. Participation in relevant standards bodies may also be appropriate.  Travel may be involved for customer or conference/trade-show visits.

PMs serve internally as liaisons within and between engineering, support, sales, marketing, field technical services, finance, legal and fulfillment. PMs serve externally as liaisons between TIBCO's product groups and TIBCO's customers and field staff. PMs serve as an internal advocate for their product, disseminating information about products within TIBCO (e.g., to peer engineering groups, to professional services, to support, etc.) through collateral, presentations, meetings and one-to-one engagements. Activities include providing support for pre-sales and sales teams, as well as professional services and solution architecture groups, through presentations, written collateral, and product demos, in both strategic and tactical situations.
