In the year ended 31 March 2013, Macquarie Capital advised on 447 transactions worth more than $A85 billion.
The primary objective of this roles is to provide transaction leadership input during the development phase (i.e. deal structuring) of infrastructure, utility and real estate projects.
Key Responsibilities
- To lead a team of multi-disciplined personnel in transaction structuring and/or tender preparation on large scale infrastructure or building projects;
- Participate in, monitor, and review procurement strategies for a transaction, including contract drafting, tendering, and stakeholder negotiation;
- Participate in structuring optimum contract conditions which properly represent Client's business interests in contract agreements with financiers, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders;
- Provide leadership to professional advisors and to cope effectively in demanding situations;
- Establish and ensure strict control of and adherence to programme and budget;
- Help establish, refine and monitor reporting procedures to ensure that 'up to date' information is at hand in respect of transactions or bids;
- Chair meetings as required.
Experience
- Project Finance or PPP/PFI Deal experience is a must;
- Solid experience as a Transaction Leader, Bid Manager or similar on financed projects is required;
- Candidate will have a background in large scale infrastructure, utilities or real estate developments;
- Managing procurement of advisors, consultants and contractors and leading them through the deal structuring phase (i.e. feasibility study, business plan development, due diligence) to develop a commercially sound and bankable deal on major infrastructure, utility or real estate projects;
- Experience with a typical suite of project finance contracts, concession agreements, bespoke D&C or EPC contracts and performance based construction / operation contracts;
- Experience in leading negotiations on concession agreements and underlying construction and operation contracts;
- Be fluent in English other languages are an advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelors degrees are required in both of the following areas:
- Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related disciplines; and
- MBA or a form of legal qualification.
