As a senior member of the Corporate Development team, the Principal identifies and evaluates acquisition and investment opportunities by partnering with the business unit leaders and functional teams. The Principal position offers significant exposure to senior leaders across the company as well as greater responsibility, career momentum and ability to drive long-term value than is often found in professional services.

Core Responsibilities:

A successful Corporate Development Principal will:

  • Identify and evaluate inorganic opportunities that align with the company's strategic objectives
  • Drive all aspects of a deal process including inorganic strategies, market scans, target valuation, detailed due diligence, and integration planning and execution
  • Provide rigorous financial and valuation acumen to assess business opportunities
  • Develop and present analyses to business unit leaders and senior corporate executives
  • Partner with cross functional and business unit leaders throughout the M&A process
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.

It is essential that the candidate be able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player. The CS&D team is regarded as a source of leaders within Intuit; therefore, the candidate will need to possess exceptional leadership skills.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidate must have:

  • Minimum of 6-8 years experience in corporate development, venture capital /private equity, investment banking or strategy consulting
  • Deep experience in leading transaction teams through the various stages of an acquisition process from strategic planning to integration execution
  • Superior communications (written/verbal), presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to quickly synthesize information, structure a concise, clear presentation of findings, and articulate prioritized issues to an executive audience
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills in order to drive the M&A transaction process with internal stakeholders, acquisition target management and external partners
  • Strong valuation skills, creativity in problem solving and keen business judgment
  • Undergraduate and MBA degrees from leading academic institutions, with a track record of strong academic performance
