You will develop skills in managing customer relationships by developing rapport with key stakeholders at all levels of the customer organization.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Finance team manages the overall financial impact of organizational decisions and activities in order to improve BD's business performance. Finance is a global resource shared by all parts of our business to help them become better managed and control their accounting flows. We manage accounting transactions, provide financial consultancy and training, and ensure that we all comply with legal, tax and internal requirements.
As a Finance Intern, your responsibilities may span the following areas:
Preparing financial analysis in support of company initiatives –Including specific project related work, as well as designing financial models, planning and results reporting, analyzing business cases, budgets, ect. ◦Developing profitability models for new projects and products
(NPV, IRR)
Conducting various special projects and ad-hoc requests to support the business – Interaction will include Finance, functional partners and Senior Management. Opportunities will exist for new idea generation and implementation, cost reduction and revenue enhancement, as well as process improvements. ◦Providing accurate and timely financial information to
management (decision support, business planning).
Participating in high level Executive meetings – Gain exposure to cross-functional business units, building relationships, learning/mentoring from top-level management and engaging in real world business situations that have a direct impact on our customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Completion of first year of an MBA degree by the time the internship begins in June, in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
-Advanced cross-functional skills to develop business cases and strategy recommendations
-Demonstrated skills and capabilities in analytical and critical thinking, complex problem solving, and team leadership
-Strong business acumen and interpersonal and influence skills
-Experience or knowledge in the healthcare field is desirable
Some positions may also require a technical degree and/or experience in medical device, pharmaceuticals, or health care.
