The Strategic Planning Manager drives the business strategy development and planning process for the Basic Petrochemicals business.  This manager identifies opportunities for new projects and business optimization, conducts strategic and economic evaluations of Basic Petrochemical investment projects in North America, in close alignment with colleagues from Global Strategy Petrochemicals, Global Technology Petrochemicals and Corporate Economic Evaluation, and participates in the negotiation of strategic projects and contracts.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
 
  • BS degree in chemistry or chemical engineering
  • 5+ years experience in petrochemical or refining industry required
  • MBA is preferred.
  • Experience in cracker and refining technology required.
  • Experience in economic project evaluation required.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills required.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Leadership skills a plus.
