Primary Job Function
Responsible for sales training of a organization with product lines that include medical devices, fee for service refractive surgical equipment, contact lens solutions as well as OTC Dry Eye drops. Responsible for building a Premier Sales Force by identifying, developing and implementing short and long term training strategy, positively impacting Sales Force Effectiveness in their Region.
1) Manage the delivery of training solutions that will improve skills and elevate capabilities for both reps and sales management
a. New hire training
b. Field base training
c. Product launches
d. Sales and Marketing meetings
2) Understand product dynamics in the marketplace, messages, features and benefits
a. Ensure training is aligned
3) Work with Leadership and Development manager to support and implement performance based standards for the reps and managers
a. Performance model
b. Coach U model and tools
c. Selling model and tools
4) Metrics
a. Evaluate training initiatives
b. Evaluate Selling skills and coaching programs
c. Track behavioral change and results to objectives
d. Budget
5) Coordinate activities to ensure effectiveness
a. Ensure collaboration of instructional design team
b. Liaison between Sales and Marketing team working with Area Sales and Marketing Directors
c. Blended learning approach with collaboration with e-learning manager
6) Responsible for the leadership and development of the training team

Minimum Education
— To be considered for this role, candidates must possess: A minimum of a BS/BA (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience / Training Required
10+ years sales or marketing experience -- minimum 5+ years sales training experience
Experience with the medical device industry is preferred and could include sales experience in medical device sales including capital equipment with demonstrated knowledge of industry, hospital and OR protocol.
Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational, leadership and process skills, and strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with all levels of management.
